Rules

Server rules

Read the rules before you play. Not reading them does not excuse breaking them. These are the same rules as in our Discord; if the two ever differ, the Discord version applies.

Introduction

Welcome to Strela, a server built not just on gameplay, but on community. Here, we strive to be more than just a player base; we are a family.

To ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for everyone, we ask that all players read and understand the rules we have put in place. Not reading the rules does not excuse breaking them. Ignorance is not a valid defense.

While we are committed to fairness, our staff team reserves the right to take disciplinary action, including bans, without prior notice or stated reason. That said, we always aim to act transparently and with integrity in our enforcement decisions.

Strela operates on a three-strike disciplinary system, where punishments increase in severity with each offense. However, staff members are not strictly bound by this system. It serves as a general guideline, not a guarantee. Severe violations, such as combat logging during a raid, may result in immediate and harsher penalties.

Our team is dedicated to maintaining a balanced and respectful environment that supports a high-quality DayZ experience for all. Thank you for being a part of Strela.

Server rules: fair play

At Strela, fair play is the core of our community. Gaining an unfair advantage, exploiting mechanics or disrupting others will result in disciplinary action, including permanent bans.

Unfair gameplay

Strictly prohibited:

  • Duping, hacking, glitching or exploiting bugs.
  • Using alt accounts for ban evasion or bypassing group limits.
  • Playing on a BattlEye-banned account.
  • Nvidia Inspector (for example tree removal) and movement exploits (moonwalk, ice slide).
  • Combat stacking or abusing game or server mechanics.

Safezones

Safezones are non-combat areas for trading and socializing. Do not:

  • Spam your mic (music, shouting and so on).
  • Block or trap players or vehicles.
  • Steal, scam or damage vehicles (video evidence required).
  • Camp safezones (for example ambushing or targeting players within 300 m).
  • Use safezones as PvP cover.

Compensation

Items and vehicles are used at your own risk. Compensation is only offered at staff discretion. Losses due to bugs, exploits or user error are not compensated.

Group limits

  • Maximum group size: 10 players, including allies.
  • Maximum 10 players per base, all in the same group.
  • Swapping is allowed except during raids or PvP.
  • Allying to bypass limits is not allowed.

Stream sniping

Targeting or harassing streamers is strictly forbidden. Handled case by case by staff.

Combat logging

  • Do not log out for 5 minutes after combat (being shot or shooting).
  • Logging out during a raid is an instant ban.
  • If you are disconnected, log back in immediately.

Use common sense. Play fair. Keep Strela fun for everyone.

Raid rules

Dismantling and boosting

  • No limits on players or items used for boosting.
  • Soft siding (dismantling during a raid) is allowed only if done without exploits and the entry was legal.
  • If a ladder pokes through a base-building floor or roof with a climb prompt from the other side, raiders may climb it.

Logging off inside enemy bases

  • If you are stuck inside an enemy base, stay online or respawn (F11) before logging off.
  • If you crashed or got bugged inside a base, log back in immediately.
  • Failure to do so counts as a glitch raid.

Building restrictions during raids

  • No building, code lock additions or defensive upgrades for 10 minutes after the last explosive, or before clearing a 100 m radius without contact or fire.
  • Video proof is recommended to avoid penalties. Failure to prove compliance may lead to punishment.

Taking over bases

Taking over a base requires all three: destroy all doors, remove the original flag, and place your own flag.

If the doors are destroyed and the flag removed but there is no takeover, logging off inside the base is prohibited for 24 hours, to prevent unfair logged-off defenders. Staff are not responsible for the actions of offline players inside taken bases.

Logging off during raids

  • Logging off while defending results in a minimum 3-day ban. Use F11 to respawn if needed.
  • Loot must be surrendered to the raiders if you log off.
  • Failure to reconnect may lead to C4 compensation to the raiders, longer bans or character wipes.
  • Raiders must wait 10 to 15 minutes after the last C4 before logging off; combat logging rules apply if fighting occurs.
  • If you are disconnected by a crash, restart or connection loss, log back in immediately.

Base building rules

Base limits

  • One base per player or team.
  • Maximum 15 code-locked doors or gates (tents used as doors count).
  • At least a one-player gap between walls and gates.
  • No clipping tents or storage inside each other.
  • No building in police stations, hospitals, fire stations, barracks or summer camps.
  • Bases may not block airdrops, CTF zones or roads.
  • No floating or unrealistic bases. Water bases must connect to land.
  • Maximum one-tile overhang, and it must look structurally supported.

Defense rules

  • No unraidable bases (for example unbreakable layers).
  • Shoot only through full windows or frames. No peeking through tiny gaps.
  • Windows cannot be used as doors or shortcuts.
  • Raiders cannot be forced to vault, crawl or use ladders for loot, except hidden rooms behind one wall or tall buildings.
  • Defenders and raiders must have equal line of sight. No angles attackers cannot aim back at.
  • Narrow floors and pillars must have railings (no balance beams).
  • Flagpoles are at your own risk and must be placed accessible and visible.

Additional rules

  • Bases causing lag or performance issues may be removed.
  • Raiding during server events may have special rules; check the announcements.
  • Grief or trap bases built just to frustrate others may be reviewed.
  • Bases blocking essential paths or harming gameplay flow can be reported.
  • Staff may remove or alter any base or tactic that violates fair play.
